I went into Mazebound with fairly low expectations alongside my friends, having only half-paid attention to an hour or two of gameplay on a stream in the background. Played this blind with some buddies last night. It's fun once. Janky in some places. Horror elements fall off quickly and then you're just filling out a shopping list that serves as your main quest. Combat's pretty annoying and bosses are damage sponges, but we didn't try to get too creative when we beat them. Trash and boring. It’s an asset flip, the whole game runs on Polymind Games’ “Survival Template PRO” from the Unity Asset Store, with Azure doing the weather/lightning and Dissonance doing the voice chat. Barely anything original, just a maze slapped on top of store-bought systems, and the gameplay loop gets dull fast. Boring asset-store flip with flaky netcode. Skip it.
