If you liked the original this one will disappoint you. Any subtlety or nuance the original had is basically completely gone. The higher-fidelity overall style looks worse than the original, and this remake is much less surreal than the original is. The story lost any sort of mystery and is essentially a plot about aliens, and the changes to the original sequences with the new "monsters" is actually something that…

The original Paratopic is a minimalist, experimental masterpiece - in a vacuum this stands on its own and delivers similar thrills / intrigue, but ultimately loses some of the effectiveness of how much the original paratopic chose to withold; the weirdness and evocative nature isn't really built on. That said, some of the new setpieces are really interesting and cool, and it still stands as a visually beautiful game…
