I got the game to play seasons of baseball as a manager. But I haven't even tried managing in the game because I started playing Star Player mode instead. I haven't tried any of the other modes yet, of which there are many. The Star Player mode is a lot of fun, and so far this is the most fun I've had when playing any baseball computer game.

It’s not quite as fun as MLB The Show for me. mainly because I love being a pitcher who can also hit home runs, which doesn't seem possible here (though I'm only four hours in). That said, it definitely scratches the baseball itch. MLB The Show is no longer free on Game Pass Ultimate, and I don't feel like spending $70 on the game plus $23 a month just to be capped at 15 hours of streaming. Without buying a console,…

So far, not good. Game update took longer than installing from scratch, unoptimized. Then I find that in Star Player mode with a fully fictitious player, I cannot have the rosters of the real players updated without resetting my custom character... absurd. That sort of decision should get a game designer fired. Also I'm only ~8 games into my first season as a pitcher but it feels like there is quite a bit or…
