About the game

A typing-driven Lovecraftian colony sim. You wake inside the corpse of a dead god, adrift in space. Carve a roguelike colony from procedurally generated anatomy. Negotiate with rival alien factions, evolve occult mutations, find your ending. The carcass remembers.

The Carcass is an interesting game, though needs some polishing and severe menu reformatting. I want to break this down a bit though, as this game is pretty controversial in its AI use and disclosure early on. PROS: As a lovecraft fanatic (I've had the pleasure of reading nearly all his works) I love the atmosphere and concept. The lore aspects feel fleshed out enough to keep me interested in the game for a time.…

It has some rough spots and could use some useful player guides but overall it's pretty good. I think if you look past the ai use, this is a sort of complex game that could use a bit more work to finish it up. I think that's pretty fair, sort of like the ai-centric bad reviews will be doing in a few years anyways as the electoral process works out and the money to help people think stops flowing after this next…

The AI disclosure was added after I had already purchased, but you can feel it immediately. There's a tangible lack of soul to the writing and you can sense the gaps in the introduction where an AI was asked to fill in for the writer's lack of ideas. I saw the premise and the ASCII interface and assumed without doing more thorough research that a game this seemingly niche must be a passion project from a dev who…
