In brief: it’s ancient Asteroids + a genuinely good buildcrafting roguelite with interesting upgrade interactions + the visuals of some Kenta Cho-style score-attack games. I'll keep this short and sweet: Nova Drift is an absolute master-class, a thesis in game design. It's like space invaders but merged with an incredibly deep build system. Build asymmetry is through the roof. The amount of builds you can assemble is incredible. I like the concept, but the whole game is designed to cheap shot the player with undeserved deaths. The game is less about skill and more about finding a broken build that clears the screen instantly. Trying to wrap around the screen with mouse controls is poorly designed and it's impossible to be accurate with it. The whole game is based around screen wrapping as a defense mechanism... Not enough info in the game…
