Both games are solid and nostalgic experiences with a bit of that MSX jank. Very interesting mechanics but the shooting and keycard systems are horrible. Best paired with a MSX or CRT filter.

It's a good start of a franchise. Games that are older than me are not my favorite thing to play, and I'd be lying if I said that I enjoyed the first one: most of the time I was confused, getting lost and had to look up a playthrough to progress. The second game was much better. there was an actual story that was enjoyable, fleshed out character and despite still having to do weird stuff to progress it was easier to…

input lag in each game is horrendous, almost a full second delay between pressing a button and seeing it do something. Unplayable, emulation gives a way better experience.
