march 2024 edit: price got bumped to $10 for no reason, only recommended on sale now. cave quest is one of the more involved match-3 offerings, with turn-based battles, hidden object scenes and other stuff on top of the usual power-ups and whatnot. I was looking forward to playing it, but as is typical with expectations, they were shattered as soon as I started the game. thankfully, after the initial disappointment…

I honestly thought this game was like 15 years old instead of 5 and I wouldn't buy it at full price but it's still quite nice. The background story and characters are... uh... actually not important, so that's okay. But the match 3 gameplay and occasional item search is well made, I had fun.

Tedious. Boring. This game has all the standard hallmarks of your average free to play match 3 games. The problem with the game is that they keep using the same mini-game over and over, just making it longer and more annoying... as you get towards the middle of the game you will find yourself just starting at the board for any tiny available moves while waiting for the painfully slow action cool downs to become…
