Recommended
Opposing Force takes the best bits of the original Half-Life and mixes them into a small package. Think of it as just more Half-Life. You play through the Black Mesa incident from a new perspective, encounter a couple of new enemies, and enjoy new weapons and firepower. This expansion is simply fun to play and highly recommended...something I cannot say about Half-Life: Blue Shift.

Different than half life , unique in its own way. They perfectly kept the half life charm while adding something new to it without ruining it. I really recommend to not skip this just to play hl2.

The fact that this game is by far the worst Half Life game is a compliment to the series, since it's not even that terrible. But you'd still need to be a pretty committed Half Life fan to enjoy this one, and even if you were one you'd still find parts of it quite tedious and inane. The main problem is that it just doesn't feel like a cohesive game in the way the main series and even Blue Shift do. Although there is…
