Its great fun, the combat is simple but works really well, there are plenty of characters to unlock, and the game does not take itself too seriously, the only problem is the online multiplayer, which is rubbish because of the lag... Apart from that, its a brilliant beat em up and is still fun to play today.

genuinely a great game with a great enough gameplay loop that ive played it several times over across several platforms and still itch to play it every now and again. on top of a recent dlc and qol update that only increased its replayability is beyond incredible. shout outs to the behemoth

I wouldn't recommend Castle Crashers anymore due to a DLC prompt that automatically adds the DLC to your cart if selected and is styled to look like a prompt for accepting an updated art style on first startup. The prompt does not seem to mention that it is a DLC. It's pushy and deceptive, and if the DLC were worthwhile, the studio wouldn't need to present it this way.
