About the game

Hear me out. Try it with regular steam deck controls. Left stick to look around and right mouse pad to move.

Eschew modern ways. Shoot Nazis, find hidden passages, collect points. Yeah it's simple, but it's classic because it's fun. Novelty got people in the door, good design kept them in the castle. ...Ok yes, Doom is better, but Wolf3D does have a charm of its own that is worth experiencing.

I think old games have charm but personally, Wolfenstein 3D is a bit too basic, its barebones visuals, levels, guns and enemies. I think there might be a Wolfenstein mod for Doom, honestly i think Wolfenstein has a reverse situation of Doom, the later games are much more interesting than the older ones, altho id be lying if i said i think Return To Castle is a bad game, its just that 3D isn't all that good of a game.
