10/10. A fantastic, ergodic, Lynchian piece of art-about-art-about-art. An absolutely essential piece of interactive storytelling, by my metrics. Amazing writing, acting, directing, editing, and effects work. It deserved all the praise it got and then some. Manon Gage & Charlotta Mohlin are genuinely treasures. This is a game that begs you to focus on looking at different motifs and questioning the authors' intents. It's a game designed around multiple layers and all you can do to navigate them is follow a plot thread. Want to see portrayals of death? Of nudity? Of the cross? Want to see roles that an actor played and how their career develops? Want to follow the use of a murder weapon? It NEEDS you to come up with your…

I entered the game with high expectations, as I consider Barlow's previous opus, Her Story, a masterwork of narrative gaming. Unfortunately, its successor Immortality, while having an even stronger narrative, fell short in the gaming aspect. It does have some gameplay, of the point-and-click type, but that is very finnicky and distracts from the narrative. It is not a terrible game, but a disappointment nonetheless.
