A relatively simple strategy game with a relatively simple story, but it makes excellent use of its medium. Frankly, the writing and the gameplay are each just mediocre on their own merit, but the way they work together elevates them to something really compelling, helped out by the evocative music and visual art. Fun furry child soldiers game. Includes art from the goat Koki. The boss difficulty can fluctuate wildly. I wish there was just a little more oomph in the final chapter in terms of challenge and spectacle. However tank management, story, character relationships and combat all blend perfectly into a tight experience.

I really would like to tell everyone that this is a great game but it just isn't? They artwork is good sure but the story is... passable? I was kind of expecting a story heavy game but at least for all that I played as of now it's more of an excuse plot which only rarely comes up and when it does it's just very short story scenes. Which I mean, not what I expected but hey, I do like gameplay focused games as well.…
