First off i want to say this is one of the most fun games i've played. Gimbal is a top-down, high-atmospheric (or space) game in which you build ships to destroy other ships. The ships are fully customizable. There are many maps and gamemodes to try. You start off with $1500T and you earn more by destroying ships. I tried hard to like this game. I really did. So, the basics of the game are as advertised. Build a ship using a variety of parts (the higher the level, the more you unlock) and fight. Things break down pretty fast though. First, there is a cheat to get yourself to maximum level virtually instantly. (Check the Community Hub for details.)
