Moments a brilliance, but not without many small flaws. This little indie game seems to want to emulate the games of old, and it really captures some aspects of those games. Controls are similar to games like Mario, but it just doesn't feel quite as tight. I found myself struggling when I would try to jump immediately after landing, which only made the Battle Toads-esque section more frustrating. The game isn't very…

my original review of the game was about how i enjoyed it and it was one of the games i liked doing the speedruns of. then the new version came out and the game was ruined. no more speedrun tactics, new auto scroller style levels that eat inputs so there's no consistency and an overall death to the charm that was this game. review changed. such a shame.
