If you're curious about classical dungeon crawlers, i.e. wizardries heritage, this is a refined example. Not modern, but refined. This is Wizardry 10 if wizardry kept patterning itself after 1-5 onwards into the future. A glorious dungeon crawling experience, once you get past the first few dungeons (they are a touch boring), and the somewhat clunky UI (with some key reassignment, its not that bad).

I've played a lot of old RPG's but my god all of the menus are awful here. UI design matters. I can't bring myself to play this more than a couple hours after years of owning it. It's like the game actively is fighting against being played. Just makes me want to play better games. I'm not intrigued enough my the vague good vs evil plot setup to power through like I did in system shock. I think your enjoyment will…
