As has been mentioned - this game is brilliant in principle - but let down somewhat by less than stellar production. Fortunately, the modding scene provides significant remedy for the Renaissance version of Guild 2. The unmodded game is worth it just for the originality and depth. With a mod pack making the game playable this is an essential part of any gamers chest.

Wow, I honestly can't believe they're still patching and improving this game after all these years. After being disappointed with The Guild 3—especially being able to kill, rob, and terrorize people with barely any meaningful consequences—I decided to come back to The Guild II: Renaissance. ummm not sure what the hype was bout this game. buggy as shiiiiz. only 3 bucks so try it at your own risk but naah. too much bug. edit: been playing more despite the bugs. yeah its pretty fun. unfortunately so glaring dev decisions that really hurt the game. IE unable to really do much with your dynasty. you have to wait till your guy dies off first before you add more then 1 of your kids to your group. why? because…
