This is a really cool foundation for the game. There's a lot of love and care put into it by the dev and you can see and feel that everywhere. Sure its still a little rough around the edges, but it is an early access title and its far more developed than many of its kin. The developer recently posted about potentially doing a massive overhaul and I really hope this process allows the game to shine like it deserves…

So, I'm going to lightly recommend this game because there is enough exploration elements and walking simulator goodness to overcome the rather dull (so far) storytelling. The tapes did nothing for me but I very much enjoyed making soup and warming up inside and exploring the abandoned national park. If more survival elements get added before release buy it.
