It's a 7/10 semi-deck builder. You get 4-6 spell slots which you can arrange and fill between battles. You get random spells from shops and encounters, and spend upgrade tokens to enhance their effects or give yourself more spell slots. SpellRogue is the most 5/10 game I can think off, it does not do many things wrong nor does it stand out in any way either. Gameplay Similar to Slice & Dice and Dicey Dungeons you roll 6 sided dice and use them for effects, yet where Slice & Dice heavily leans into the dice rolling effect to stand out SpellRogue does not commit fully.
