After my huge disappointment and even anger with Silent Hill f, I approached Silent Hill 2 Remake with some hesitation and even doubts, but my concerns quickly disappeared. An amazing experience. The atmosphere is top notch, and that iconic thick fog combined with the updated, creepy sound design instantly sucks you into the town. Moving the camera behind James's shoulder completely changes the vibe, making every encounter with monsters feel way more claustrophobic, intense, and genuinely scary, while the resource management keeps the tension high. It is a demake of the original. The sound design has been butchered, the soundtrack is nowhere near as good either. A lot of tracks are straight up missing.
