finally, a game to fill the empty hole in my heart that SNKRX left when its developer disappeared up his own non-fungible arsehole, ne'er to be seen again. this, however, is adorable, the combat is punchy, and the music is phenomenal. for more thoughtful recommendations of the best games on Steam, check out my curator, The Absolute Finest.

A fun little game with some balancing issues but a solid core gameplay loop. Your build can become incredibly overpowered - it got to a point where I didn't have to move and I'd absolutely slaughter all enemies - but getting to that point can be tedious. The balance of the game is not quite as fine tuned as it could be and there are some units (no spoilers!) that virtually win you the game. Getting certain synergies…

Centipede Gun feels like it should really be an idle / incremental game, but then it incentivises you to actually play the game and move around... but moving around is slow, waddly and not very fun. Not being able to change the structure of your centipede (other than outright selling modules) is also a negative.
