If you enjoy the first Spelunky, this sequel is like a similar but longer and more difficult experience with much more to uncover and do in varying playthroughs. Probably my favourite roguelike. During lockdown, my time was split between Zoom lectures and Spelunky 2. I recently got back into the game (on PC this time) and the learning curve seemed just as impenetrable as the first go around, and just as rewarding as I re-climbed it. Thankfully, it took much less time.

Pretty damn awful if you ask me. The game seems to suffer from mechanics that don't play nicely. How quickly your character moves, vs the concept of safely navigating all the traps and enemies. How sensitive the analogue/Dpad is with how short of a range your whip is makes for a frustrating combo. I managed to make it a decent amount into the game with the prequel, but this is unfun and frustrating. The camera is so…
