I watched the tv show on Netflix inspired by this game before I ever even knew the game existed, but when I found out it did I stopped watching the show so I could play the game before finishing it. Starts off with a good twist right away, and the first few chapters were pretty terrifying in my opinion, but I'm also a huge coward when it comes to horror. Exceptional atmosphere and historical setting, engaging story, gameplay feels smooth. The puzzles were simple but certainly not boring. Made me want to play other Red Candle games like Devotion.

Frankly, i'm not a huge fan of these slow, sidescrolling horror games, but I wanted to check out what RedCandleGames made before the excellent Nine Sols. While this game's narrative ends up being relatively good as an idea, the execution and slow pace detracted from the experience, as well as the gameplay being boring with puzzles and enemies that failed to engage me in any meaningful way.
