Despite being separated by over a decade, Psychonauts 2 feels like a natural sequel that stays true to the original, with the exception of greatly enhanced controls and platforming. It's pretty good, and it is fun to play overall, but I can't recommend it over the original game. There's something that was lost in the years between the development of the first game and this one that the sequel just doesn't manage to replicate. I feel like some of the "character" that the first game had was traded in for superficial polish and "modern sensibilities" so to speak. Double Fine just isn't the same…
