As a longtime fan of the Final Fantasy Series, i had been searching for games that capture the special feeling the early games had. This game does so beautifully. The soundtrack, impeccable. I just couldn't get into this. The plot is recycled from dozens of other JRPGs, the characters just don't feel sympathetic, and the story's specifics are just plain uninspired. I have identical complaints about other Squeenix games so I call it the "Squeenix Curse."
