Recommended
despite how divided people were about this game in 2004 and for many years later, it was huge. it’s still huge. Half-Life 2 won their battle in terms of influence on future games, but cultural impact of Doom 3 is beyond words as well. and it’s still a good game.

Underapprediated fucking banger. Make sure to play this version over BFG edition. A tip for Steam Deck / Linux players too - make sure to use Luxtorpeda to automatically run through the dhewm3 source port, which will help mitigate a few technical issues caused by this game's age

Went to this one after shelving the BFG edition for being too boring thinking this will suck as well but It was only a little better. This entry takes a horror approach which is different from its predecessors and with that decision came more bad than good.
