About the game

There is only you and the Forest. In "Rooten" there are no compulsory tasks, time just goes by, and days pass by independently of you. You can explore the Forest, try to get out, or even do nothing at all. The forest has always been here, and always will be. You won't change it no matter what.

Rooten is a great horror adventure. It's not that scary, but it has a great mood & exploring gameplay. I'm a big fan of the in-game mechanic of time that goes by itself and brings feel of a daily routine that gets worse every day. In the first days it feels like there's too much time for you, but you'll lose that feeling as the game progress. Art somehow reminded me Don't Starve in a great way, even though it's…

Honestly, I'd give it a mixed rating if I could. For the price, it's good, however the pacing is EXTREMELY slow. You basically have to go through 6 days and every day you wake up in the same exact place, then you spend one minute walking the same exact path you do daily just to try and maybe find something new. The story itself was intriguing and left me wanting to go through a second playthrough just to find out…

Intriguing concept with EXCRUCIATING gameplay. The game only lets you WALK and only offers extremely repetitive pattern of play. You need to find your way around the forest and you only walk. This, you need to do 7 f#$king times in order to watch the ending. The game takes about an hour and a half to finish and every minute was pain in the a*s. If you love the idea of getting lost and walking around the dark as*…
